The factory behind your aluminum windows shapes the finished result more than the profile brand printed on the box. The same system performs very differently depending on who cuts it, who crimps the corners, who coats it and who checks the tolerances. In a market where summer heat, dust and coastal humidity punish weak workmanship, the gap between a real factory and a trading workshop appears within months — as air leakage, failed coating and sashes that no longer close.

Choosing an aluminum factory in Saudi Arabia is not a price contest. It comes down to three verifiable things: what the factory actually produces in-house, how it controls quality, and whether it can deliver, install and support the work in your city — Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam or anywhere between.

Ask to see the production floor before you compare numbers. A serious aluminum factory in Saudi Arabia runs CNC cutting and machining centres, a dedicated line for assembling thermal-break profiles, a powder coating line with proper pre-treatment, and a quality lab for dimensions and finishes. Most reputable fabricators do not extrude their own profiles — they buy licensed systems and add value through fabrication. That is normal; what matters is that the profiles come from a licensed source and that the factory owns the equipment and procedures to fabricate them correctly.

Then ask for documents: ISO 9001 for quality management, plus SASO or Saudi Building Code test reports for air infiltration, water penetration and thermal transmittance of the systems it sells. A factory that can hand you test certificates has real evidence behind its claims; one that cannot should leave your shortlist.

Saudi projects are dominated by a handful of internationally licensed aluminum systems alongside local licensed producers. Genuine profiles carry the system's logo and batch codes, laser-engraved or printed along the thermal break or the inner wall. Check the wall thickness — typically 1.2 to 2.0 mm for windows and doors — and the thermal-break strip width, from 14.8 mm economy profiles to 24 mm and wider for high performance, plus whether the strip is polyamide with a foam-filled cavity.

Be wary of equivalent profiles. It is common to see a quotation naming a well-known system while a generic imported profile is delivered. Ask the factory to state the exact system name on the quotation and the invoice and to show you the engraved marking on a sample piece. An unverified profile almost always means unverified thermal performance and coating.

The climate writes the specification for you. Riyadh summers above 45°C and intense solar gain make the thermal envelope critical, and the Saudi Building Code (SBC 601) sets energy-efficiency requirements for the building envelope that most new projects must meet. A factory that cannot produce U-value calculations and compliance documentation for its systems will stall your project at the municipality or the consultant's desk.

Orientation matters as much as the system. A west-facing facade needs stronger solar control than a north one, and wind-driven rain and dust require properly drained frames, working weep systems and EPDM gaskets rather than the cheapest seal available.

In Jeddah and Dammam, humidity and salt air attack finishes and hardware. A marine-grade powder coating or anodizing with the correct pre-treatment, plus stainless or marine-grade hardware, is the difference between a facade that still looks new after a decade and one that corrodes at the edges within a few years.

Inland, sand and dust are the enemy: they abrade tracks, rollers and seals. Quality gaskets, brush seals and sealed bearings protect operation far better than a lower initial price on hardware ever can.

Aluminum pricing in Saudi Arabia is driven by the profile system and wall thickness, the finish and colour, the thermal-break specification, glazing type, hardware brand, and whether the quote covers survey, fabrication, delivery and installation. A thermally broken window with double low-E glazing from a licensed system can cost roughly 1.5 to 2 times a basic single-glazed unit — and the performance gap is far wider than the price gap.

Get every quote against the same specification sheet and an itemized breakdown. When one factory prices per square metre and another per window, or one includes silicone and delivery while another adds them separately, the comparison is meaningless — and prices far below market usually mean thinner profiles, thinner coating and hardware you will replace twice.
